Community Care

Community Care at Genesis is a partnership of staff, elders and community members as we seek to embody the love of Jesus in our support and care for one another. We focus our care in four primary areas: practical, pastoral, financial and prayer. If you are in need of financial support through our Benevolence Fund, please contact Pastor Kara at karav@genesischurchmn.org.

practical care

This team provides practical forms of care for those who are experiencing significant life events such as a new baby, the loss of a loved one, illness or hospitalization, the loss of a job, or any other event that might welcome extra care. Care from this team may include: meal delivery, drivers for errands or appointments, handy jobs/yard work, and cleaning/housework

pastoral care

We all experience challenges and could use a caring companion to journey alongside them who will listen, show empathy, and provide a safe place to be honest about the tough issues in our lives.  At Genesis, a team of pastoral care members provide a confidential, nonjudgmental, listening presence to anyone experiencing grief, loss, transition, or other concerns. Team members are trained in active listening, and will meet one-on-one with anyone requesting care for concerns such as illness, loss of a loved one, job loss/career change, parenting challenges, relationship changes, new baby, etc.*

A resource list of therapists and spiritual directors is maintained by the Lead Pastor and shared with those who request it.

prayer needs

For those in need of prayer, we invite you to email your request and the prayer team and staff will pray for you during the week. If there's additional support needed, a member of the team will connect with you on the type of assistance you're looking for.
