Join us for our annual Genesis Apple Orchard outing on Saturday, Sept 20, 11am-1pm at Pleasant Valley Orchard near Taylor's Falls (which also happens to be the orchard owned by Amelia Birkholz's family!). Stay as long as you'd like, bring a lunch or buy treats in the orchard shop. We'll take an orchard walk/pick apples together beginning at 11:15 for any who would like to join in. Pleasant Valley is a lovely orchard with goats, chickens and bunnies, hayrides ($6), live music beginning at 1pm, apples to pick, and an orchard cat to pet. Hope you'll join us for a fun, lowkey gathering as we enjoy nature and one another's company!

Join us for the beginning of the season of Creationtide Sunday, September 7th at 10:45am for worship. Instead of gathering in the Chapel, we'll spend time in nature and community, meeting at 10:45am at the Westwood Hills Nature Center St. Louis Park. We'll spend time in prayer and song, contemplative time in nature and concluding with an outdoor Eucharist. Feel free to bring a lunch to hang around afterwards and enjoy the playground, the water garden and observation deck or wherever your hiking shoes take you.

We're continuing to lean into our intentional rhythm of taking the 5th Sunday as a day to explore Sabbath or Service instead of gathering for a typical worship service. August 31st is our next 5th Sunday and we are inviting the congregation to experience Sabbath in your own homes or the outdoors. Rest well friends!

Do you love building with LEGO bricks? Join us for our third annual Genesis LEGO Masters Thursday, July 31, 6–8pm in the fellowship hall. This event is for EVERYONE! Seriously. Everyone. It's BYOL (bring your own LEGO), but we'll have community LEGO bricks for anyone who needs it. You can build for fun or build for a prize! To make things fair, we're providing boxes for all participants to transport their LEGO bricks.

Join us for the first ever Genesis float at the Whiz Bang Days Parade in Robbinsdale on Sunday, July 13. We could use folks to walk in the parade, hand out candy, use a bubble maker or carry a banner. For those participating in the parade: meet at W. Broadway & 47th Ave no later than 2:30pm (look for float #66 aka the VerHage's black minivan with brightly colored flowers on it). We still also need candy donations (no chocolate!) - which you can bring to church this Sunday and leave with Kara or Rebecca. Join us for our first worship service at our new location and at the new time, Sunday, July 13 at 10:45am. We'll start promptly at 10:45 in the sanctuary and following worship will head down to the Fellowship Hall for post-church treats.

Join us on Tuesday, July 8 between 5:30-7pm at our new church location (4200 Lake Road, Robbinsdale) for an open house. Leaders from Robbinsdale Parkway UCC will be on hand to greet and serve a light supper, while we give tours of the building. Kids classrooms and the Sanctuary will also be open, providing a great opportunity for all Genesis folks to get a sense of what to expect at our new church home!

Our next 5th Sunday is June 29 and we are inviting the congregation to practice acts of service in your own home or wider community. Consider picking up trash in your neighborhood or community park, send letters to legislators, help a neighbor with yard work, donate food to your local food shelf, write positive chalk messages on your sidewalk, plant and take care of something in nature, etc.

Let's kick off summer with creative expression. Bring a t-shirt or two (or whatever you'd like to add some razzle dazzle to!) and meet in the church parking lot to create your own wearable art.
