Are you new-ish to the Genesis Community? Join us on Sunday, Nov 1st following worship (12pm-1:30pm) Come learn more about Genesis' beginnings and how our mission/vision/values inform our present and future. Pastor Kara will guide the conversation and you'll have a chance to hear from some staff and elders as well! Bring all your curious questions and an appetite. On Sunday, November 1 we are commemorating All Saints Sunday during worship. This is a time in the liturgical year where we celebrate that all of us are part of a community of Jesus followers or a "communion of saints". In doing so we will have have the opportunity to name those who have passed on from this life, light a candle to commemorate them, and proclaim that death does not break the bonds of the community of faith. Everyone is invited to bring a photo of a loved one and set up on the table at the front of the sanctuary and/or light candles in honor of those we love who have gone before us.

Join us for our monthly Parent Meet-up on Wednesday Oct 28 at 6:30pm in the the "Living Room" at RPUCC. We'll gather for conversation, connection and snacks, plus encouragement and support. NEW THIS FALL: We are offering childcare and ask that you sign-up if you are planning to bring your kid(s) so Mikayla knows how to plan for activities. Hope to see you there!

Break out your cat ears or your Pokemon costume as we gather for worship with a little extra Halloween fun on Sunday, Oct 25. Feel free to wear your costume and we'll have some themed treats and games following worship.

Genesis and RPUCC are hosting a joint Trunk or Treat event in the church parking lot on Sunday, October 24th from 10AM-12PM. Wear your costume, and bring a friend and something to carry your treats! We are also looking for folks to volunteer their time and car trunks to pass out treats. Sign up to be a trunk host here (you can designate whether you’ll bring your own decorations or if you’d like us to decorate for you). This fall join Pastor Kara for a unique book study/field trip centered on Barbara Brown Taylor’s book Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others. We’ll gather for 2 sessions (Sept 30 & Oct 7) to discuss the book and then have 2 field trips to experience other faith traditions. We have a couple of copies of the book in the Genesis Library if you’d like to check it out. Please sign up here.

Join us for the beginning of the season of Creationtide Sunday, September 6th at 10:45am for outdoor worship. Instead of gathering in the Sanctuary, we'll spend time in nature and community, meeting at 10:45am at the Westwood Hills Nature Center St. Louis Park. We'll spend time in prayer and song, contemplative time in nature and concluding with an outdoor Eucharist. Feel free to bring a lunch to hang around afterwards and enjoy the playground, the water garden and observation deck or wherever your hiking shoes take you.

The Powell's are hosting a Sunday Brunch on August 30 at 11am at their home in Edina. They will provide the main dish and some beverages. They'll be providing an egg bake - please bring a fruit, salad, bread or other side. It'll be a lovely time of conversation, food and general merriment! Signups are appreciated as they plan for numbers. Their address will be emailed out after you sign-up.

At Genesis, we practice a rhythm of taking the 5th Sunday as a day to explore Sabbath or Service instead of gathering for a typical worship service. August 30th is our next 5th Sunday and we are inviting the congregation to experience Sabbath in your own homes or the outdoors. Rest well friends!

Join us for a contemplative experience in nature on Thursday, July 30 at 6pm at the MN Landscape Arboretum. We'll meet onsite at 6pm for a blessing and receive instructions for our self-guided contemplative activity throughout the arboretum. The Ducklow family is hosting a Sunday Supper on July 26 at 5pm at their home in Maple Grove. They will provide the main dish and some beverages. Bring a side dish to share and a lawn chair if you're able. They will even have a bouncy house! It'll be a lovely evening of conversation, food and general merriment! All ages are welcome. Kids of any age are invited to our Water and Watermelon Party on Saturday, July 25th from 1-3PM at church! Wear a swimsuit or something you don’t mind getting wet and bring any water toys (buckets, water squirters, reusable water balloons) you'd want and any friends who’d like to tag along!
